Mission Statement

The Hawaii Jitterbugs (HJ) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting a vintage style of swing dancing in Hawaii including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, and Jitterbug. We accomplish this mission through organizing, publicizing, and executing performances, lessons, workshops, and social dances. We also publish a weekly e-newsletter, maintain this website, and conduct outreach to other swing dance clubs and organizations.

As in any non-profit organization, there are many people who help make things happen. We couldn't do it without an army of volunteers, and yes, all you regulars who faithfully show up each week. If you have any ideas, requests, or would like to donate your talents and volunteer, please let us know! We are always looking for help.
