What it is:

1. studio floor time that you can use to work on things you've learned from classes, workshops, or from videos
2. swing music at a variety of tempos, a few songs in a row at each speed
3. mirrors to fine-tune your asthetic style
4. a comfortable group of peers who you can always ask to give you tips or tricks; we try to offer constructive criticism to each other in hopes of being better dancers

What it is not:

1. a lesson: there will be no formal instruction whatsoever unless by spontaneous unanimous agreement
2. a social dance: there will be no rules of etiquette here (e.g., stop half-way through and figure it out, do the swingout 10000 times, etc.)

Cost: Less than $5, whoever shows up splits the cost of the floor fee evenly.

Note: Dance practice works best if you have something specific you want to practice. Try writing down the things you want to go over beforehand, and be prepared to practice solo if there's not enough leads or follows (or even better, bring your own partner who wants to work on the same things). If you can't think of anything to work on, take a private lesson from someone in the scene; they'll give you lots of useful things to practice and are well worth it!
